Specialized Program Descriptions

Pathways to Peace

Solution focused - Cognitive Behavioral Domestic Violence treatment program which incorporates both clinical and preventative techniques. The client learns accountability as well as societal boundaries. There is a 16 & 24 week program depending on client needs. This program has been researched by two separate departments out of the University of Utah which validates the effectiveness of the program with reduced recidivism. 

Dual Focus

Dual Focus Program that is the Domestic Violence program that integrates substance abuse issues. This program is 24 weeks.  

Anger Management

An 8-week solution focused course. Clients will develop coping and problem solving skills to improve self control thus reducing explosive episodes which will improve their relationships. 

Substance Solutions

Substance, alcohol dependency and abuse issues (day and evening group)

Thinking Errors

Cognitive restructuring to improve choice and accountability (substance abuse education, underage drinking, theft, curfew violations, impulse control, vandalism and minor crimes). A 6 hour class. 

Prime for Life (Adult & Teen Classes)

State certified program for individuals who make high risk choices. It has interactive participation prime solutions is based on action based on action and maintenance to achieve long term change, not just compliance. It is the authorized DUI program with a PRI certified instructor; the classes run two evenings per week, four hours each evening for two consecutive weeks.  If you miss a class you are required by regulation to start over. 

Responsible Parenting 

A skill based group in which the curriculum discusses stages of development, discipline vs. punishment, constancy and creative parenting alternatives to strengthen the family relationship. This group is an 8 week program.

- Criminal Background Check (BCI) (Obtain from Department of Public Safety 3888 W. 5400 S.)
- Two most recent pay stubs for consideration for sliding fee scale

Specialized Non-Court Related Programs


The Visions Program was designed for children traumatized by domestic violence (ages 5-17). Group, family and individual treatment is offered. There are several funding sources making the program affordable for the non-offending parent (selected by the Utah Domestic Violence Advisory Council for "Best Practices") This program is 10 weeks plus orientation and assessment.

DCFS Outpatient Treatment Contract; please call for more information. Requires DCFS referral 

*Foster Care

DCFS Outpatient Treatment for Children in State Custody (Medicaid enhanced). Requires DCFS referral

*services may be sponsored in full or in part by the State of Utah or Salt Lake County. SCC is a multi-discipline outpatient facility.  

Many fees are covered by insurances/ Medicaid. Some programs maybe also contracted by DWS, Vocational Rehabilitation and SSI.
